Does everyone need to install an app?
No app store needed. Uitvossen opens via a link and runs in the browser; you can add it to your home screen so it feels like a real app during the game. No account, no password.
How many people can join?
As many as you like — you play per team, not per person. Two teams of fifteen? No problem. And on plans with more teams you can even run multiple fox or hunter teams at once. Everyone can open the team link on their own phone; you all share the same team view. We count teams, never heads.
Where and how do you play?
You pick the playing field: your own neighbourhood on foot, or a whole region by car. The foxes set their secret end point; the organiser matches the game length to the area. Uitvossen provides the structure — the city does the rest.
What do I need to get started?
Basically a smartphone with internet and GPS. Pick a date, a playing area and an end point — and the hunt is on. No installation hassle; some challenges may call for a small prop.
How does it stay fair without a referee?
The app is your referee. You claim a joker with a photo or video as proof; the opposing team (or the organiser) approves or rejects it. And secrets — the foxes' end point, the challenge texts — stay hidden until the right moment. No arguments about who saw what. On the Plus plan you can also set it so only the organiser reviews claims.
Can I tweak the game to my liking?
Absolutely. Set the game length, the head start and the joker limits, name the teams, and adjust the rules text and challenges if you like. Your party, your rules.
Can I play along as the organiser?
Yes. The organiser link controls the clock and the settings, but you can happily run along in a team. Note: the control view shows the foxes' secret end location — if you play with the hunters, better not open it during the game.
Can we play a practice round first?
Yes. Reset game takes everything back to the start: evidence, locations and result are wiped, teams and links stay. A started game can be reset at most twice, within 6 hours of the first round starting — perfect for a quick practice round right before the real thing.
Can you set a play area?
On the Plus plan you draw the play area on the map; everyone sees it as a dashed line, and anyone outside it sees that on their own screen. Nobody else is notified — it is a visual agreement, not an electronic fence.
What happens to our photos and location?
They're only used during the game and wiped automatically afterwards. Photos are stripped of GPS data. Hosted in the EU.
Do I get a discount for referring a friend?
Yes! After your game you get your own invite link. Anyone who books a game through your link automatically gets a discount at checkout — and once that game is paid, we email you a reward code for your next game. Your link works for multiple friends.
