Jokers & effects

How to claim a joker

Every joker has a challenge. Complete it, take a photo or video, and submit that as evidence via the jokers tab. Your claim is then under review: the opposing team (or the organiser) approves or rejects it. Rejected? Just try again. The organiser can also enable automatic approval after a fixed waiting time.

The limits

Three limits apply (defaults; adjustable per game): at most 3 jokers in possession at once, at most 5 jokers in total across the whole game, and at most 1 joker(s) active at the same time. Claims under review already count. Releasing a joker (returning it unplayed) frees up your total budget again.

Playing & effects

You play a claimed joker whenever it suits you. Some effects are instant (done the moment you play them — extra travel time, say; you'll see a marker next to the timer), others run for a while (visible as an active joker, like a freeze) and others need a response from the other team (like an information question). Watch out for the joker-jam joker: it temporarily blocks the other team from activating anything.

The Thief: stealing jokers

The Thief steals an unused joker straight out of the other team's hands: you get it, they lose it (and get their total budget back, so they can claim a replacement). Stealing counts toward your own total limit — and can never push you past it: at your maximum, stealing (and even playing a Thief) is blocked. A Thief on your very last slot is a dead card — don't sit on it too long!

Challenges are exclusive

Every joker exists only once: whoever gets the challenge claimed first owns it — after that, the joker is gone for the other side. Speed pays.

This is the official joker set included in every game. Per joker you see the challenge, what each side gets out of it, and the effect. The themed packs (bachelor party, team building, friend group, family) use the same jokers with their own challenge texts — expand the variants to see them. The organiser can also rewrite challenges per game.

1. Radar Swap

Challenge: Find a street sign with an animal in its name. Get in a photo with the sign and imitate the animal.

  • Bachelor party: Find a street name you can cheekily pin on the bride/groom and pose next to it, shamelessly over the top.

  • Group of friends: Find a street sign with an animal in the name and imitate that animal as convincingly as possible on the photo.
  • Family: Find a street sign with an animal in the name and have everyone imitate that animal together.

2. Stalling

Challenge: Buy a snack for the road and take a selfie of the group.

  • Group of friends: Buy the cheapest edible trinket you can find and photograph the receipt.
  • Family: Buy a treat together and take a photo just before someone takes the first bite.

3. Where are you?

Challenge: Take a photo where everyone touches something purple.

4. Travel Time

Challenge: Film a total stranger wishing you good luck in one sentence.

  • Family: Film grandpa, grandma or a parent wishing the little ones the best of luck.

Challenge: Find a church and take a selfie with it.

Challenge: Find three objects with a 3 on them and put them in a photo together.

Challenge: Take a photo that makes it look like someone from the group is locked up in jail as a thief.

10. Fast Track

Challenge: Talk someone with a dog into a joint photo.

11. Curfew

Challenge: Find a public clock and photograph it with the time clearly readable.

Challenge: Film your team chanting your team name in unison.

Challenge: Get other people to form the word STOP.

14. Surveyor

Challenge: Talk a stranger into a joint selfie where you both point into the distance.
